MCG & Ecogreen Energy organized presentation workshop and interaction

PBKNews/Gurugram, January 6 (Ajay) : Municipal Corporation of Gurugram and Ecogreen Energy held a joint interaction and workshop with RWA representatives and cross-section of residents in Zone – 3 regarding implementation of Integrated Solid Waste Management Project, which also included a presentation about the project. About 90 representatives from all the 6 wards of Zone – 3 including Ward No. 30, Ward No. 31, Ward No. 32, Ward No. 33, Ward No. 34 and Ward No. 35 attended the meeting.

The meeting was chaired by Smt. Sunita Yadav, Dy. Mayor, Gurugram. She emphasized on the importance of the project and the benefit it would bring to the society. Detailed presentation about the project was made by Shri. Ankit Aggarwal, CEO, Ecogreen Energy. The project aims at elimination of open dumping and burning of waste, making the city cleaner and healthier.

The door to door collection of Municipal Solid Wase has already been started in 11 wards of Zone – 1 and Zone – 2. The same is planned to be started in Zone – 3 in 2-3 days.

The concerns of residents regarding various aspects of implementation were addressed by Shri Y.S. Gupta, Additional Municipal Commissioner, MCG and Shri Ankit Aggarwal, CEO, Ecogreen.

ISWM project is an ambitious project and Shri V. Umashankar, Commissioner, MCG has reiterated earlier that only when citizens work hand – in – hand with the corporation; then and then alone can we collectively realize the benefits of this ambitious ISWM project to the maximum; and RWAs have a key role to play to bring this change.

Speaking on the occasion Shri Y.S. Gupta, Additional Municipal Commissioner, MCG said that, ‘MCG exhorts each and every citizen of Gurugram to educate themselves about the promising ‘Integrated solid waste management project’ and take benefit of the same.” He also informed that Deputy Commissioner, Gurugram, Shri Vinay Pratap Singh, will facilitate and recognize the top 3 best performing RWAs on January 26, 2017 who are actively working in waste management under Swachh Bharat Mission. Interested RWAs need to submit all the details with full facts & details in the Room No. 112, 1st. Floor, Mini Secretariat, Gurugram by January 15, 2018.

He also informed everyone about the ongoing Swachhata Sarvekshan led by the government which will survey 4041 cities in the country, which also includes Gurugram. The cities will get the ranking basis the various parameters including cleanliness. He requested all the citizens of Gurugram to help keep their city clean and thus help in the overall ranking of Gurugram. Under Swachh Sarvekshan citizens will get a call on their mobile where-in they will be enquired about the various aspects of Swachh Sarvekshan, basis which points will be awarded to the city.

The participants at the event included RWAs and citizens from all the 6 wards including Abhay Punia from Sun City RWA, Shivshankar Rai, Anil Sharma and S.P. Dawar from Sushant Lok – 1 RWA, Alka Dalal from Malibu Town, Ravindra Yadav and T.K. Satishan from DLF Phase – 1, Ramnivas Sharma from South City – 1, amongst others. They appreciated the inclusive approach of Ecogreen Energy for arranging Information, Education and Communication programmes for better understanding and also shared various queries regarding the same with MCG and Ecogreen Energy. Also present during the interaction were all the 6 ward councilors including Kuldeep Singh Bohra, R.S. Rathi , Kusum Yadav, Arati Yadav and Mahesh Diama Liluram – Ex – Sarpanch of Nathapur, Shri Anil Yadav from Kanhai, Sourabh Nain, Executive Engineer, MCG, Rajiv Yadav, SDO, MCG, Pradeep Kumar, SDO, MCG Shri Bijendra Sharma, Senior Sanitary Inspector, MCG, Sanitary Inspectors Sudhir Kumar and Manoj Yadav, Assistant Engineer Rajiv Yadav, Junior Engineer Kuldeep and Devendra, General Manager of EcoGreen Energy  Rajesh Kurup, and Surendra Kumar.
